Invitation V – Vegan restaurant

12 Aug

Invitation V is a nice vegan restaurant in Outremont area. According to my friends who have been keeping a vegetarian diet for a while, they have some of the best vegetarian dishes. Mostly because it’s a lot tastier than other places that serve up bland vegetables.

Vegan, or in it’s less aggressive form, Vegetarian food is all the rage these days. It’s certainly healthy, and more sustainable. But for me, it’s not so easy to keep a vegetarian diet because it can gets boring really fast… Invitation V did pretty well by using spices and condiments to add flavor to the dishes.

The rolls are just OK. The rice wrap is a bit too chewy…

The Burmese style soup was very delicious! It’s slightly sour with lots of Asian spice flavors. Definitely recommend it.

The crabless cake was good too. Even though it’s a bit weird tasting chunks of vegetable in it. The Cajun rice and sauce were very tasty.

Chia is probably the only “super food” I like. When chia seeds absorb the moisture, it tastes like bubble tea pearls, or pudding! In the cake, the chia seeds added a bit crunchy texture to it and was really nice! Even though the rest of the cake just tasted like a normal cake…

There was a kale chocolate cake on the table too and I totally didn’t like the taste of it…
